This is a new concept and type of restaurant whereby a crane is used to lift staff, tables, and customers into the air. The concept was jointly developed by David Ghysels, owner of a marketing agency and bungee jumping expert Stefan Kerkhofs who decided to franchise their idea.

Dinner in the Sky in Vancouver

This Vancouver-based restaurant offers unique areal dining experience where guests are lifted over 100 feet into the air. Customers enjoy stunning views and diverse and tasty food. Chef Ned Bell’s menu includes items such as wild BC salmon, pacific white shrimp, lobster tacos, and sea weed and chocolate brownie. The West Vancouver menu features four courses, including wild BC salmon, chef’s surprise, gazpacho, and tonka bean panna cotta. Vegan options are also available, including coconut panna cotta and scallops and risotto. The entire dining experience takes about two hours. Customers are offered a complimentary glass of wine and a selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Happy hour, lunch, and brunch packages will soon be available. Prices vary by package. The VIP package costs $569, the brunch package is priced at $299, and the happy hour package costs $149. However if you are trying to cut down on your expences this restaurant may not be your best option.

Dinner in the Sky in Cape Town

Cape Town’s version of this areal dining experience offers different options, including meetings, cocktails, lunch, and breakfast in the sky. Guests are lifted over 190 feet above the ground, and the large table can accommodate up to 22 diners. The whole experience takes about 90 minutes and is adults-only. The breakfast menu includes a basket of muffins, seasonal fruit, tea, coffee, or juice, and a wrap with mushrooms, bacon, and eggs. The lunch menu features two courses – grilled chicken breast with cream sauce, spinach, and feta and French cheese cake. The snack menu includes tasty treats such as Mediterranean beef kebabs, mini burgers, and chicken wings. The dinner menu features three courses, consisting of pepper crusted fillet, salmon stacker, and frozen cheese cake. A three-course menu costs about $681 while a light lunch or breakfast package costs about $238.

Dinner in the Sky in Paris

A unique dining experience in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris, Dining in the Sky features delicious meals and a breathtaking view of the Champs Elysees, Louvre, and Concorde. Prices vary, depending on the menu selection and a budget menu can cost as low as 39 EUR.

Dinner in the Sky in London

London in the Sky offers an unforgettable dining experience 100 feet in the air. The venue is a good choice for corporate and public events and is found on the South Bank in London. Food is prepared by top chefs such as Pascal Aussignac, Lee Westcott, and Robin Gill. The breakfast menu has three variations. The table 1 menu, for example, includes Cornish crab omelette, egg custard soaked brioche with spiced pineapple, ginger and maple syrup, and ricotta, Huavos rancheros, and coconut porridge. The breakfast menu costs £50. The lunch menu also has three versions. The table 2 menu features chocolate and strawberry, lamb with nettles, peas, and asparagus, and sea trout with green almond, gooseberry, and heritage tomato. A vegetarian option is offered as well. The menu costs £125 per person. There is also a tea in the clouds menu, again in three different versions. The table 3 menu features assorted cake pops, shortbreads, mini scones with vanilla and English strawberry jam, free range egg sandwich, and more. Tea in the clouds costs £75 per person and is served from 3.30 pm to 4 pm on a daily basis. The dinner menu includes delicious meals such as barbecued rib of beef, Gascony pie, and marinated strawberries with black honey pulp and verbena crunch. The cost is £150 per person, and dinner is served between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm on a daily basis. Other options include cocktails & stars, Chef’s table in the sky, and sunset dinner in the sky. In addition to a selection of exquisite meals, Chef’s table in the sky features after dinner drinks, 2 complimentary glasses of selected wines, and the unique chance to watch a top chef cooking the dinner.

Dinner in the Sky in Manila

In Metro Manila, Dinner in the Sky offers public and corporate opportunities such as corporate engagement, press conferences, product launches, and more. Guests can choose from 3 different packages – first class ($469), business class ($281), and standard class ($188). The first class package includes complimentary Patisserie Signature chocolates and fresh oysters, complimentary water and juice, a 5-course menu, free flow wine and champagne, and priority boarding. On the budgeted end, the standard package features complimentary water and juice and a four-course dinner menu. Top chefs such as Yves Mattagne, Kenneth Cacho, and Norimasa select and prepare meal items. Chef Hylton Le Roux’s menu features two options for the main course – slow cooked pork belly with refried beans, agave roast baby carrots, and Mojo sauce and Atlantic salmon with chili corn salsa, Huancaina cream, edamame, and red quinoa. Chef Alan Marchetti’s menu features balsamic marinated black cod, mascarpone ravioli, tuna tartar, and chocolate dome.

Dinner in the Sky has partners in more than 45 countries around the world, including Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Brazil, Austria, Israel, Poland, South Africa. The concept has been successfully replicated in 55 countries, the most recent additions being Vietnam, Mexico, and Malaysia. In Kuala Lumpur, for example, guests have the chance to taste delicious meals such as pan seared sirloin steak, roasted honey pumpkin, aubergine parmigiana, and pan seared sea bass with saffron butter sauce, grilled vegetables, mashed sweet potato, and sautéed celeriac. Special and themed events are also organized, including Marriage in the Sky, Lounge in the Sky, Santa in the Sky. Santa in the Sky, for example, is an unforgettable experience for children and adults alike. They have the chance to sit in Santa’s sleigh, eat tasty pancakes and waffles, and drink a cup of hot chocolate with Santa. This is the newest project of the Belgian Dinner in the Sky and a unique opportunity for the whole family to have a memorable Christmas.
